I’ve been thinking about opposition to social liberation and the political/cultural battles that have been won. I’ve been wondering why we don’t talk about the little stumping of liberation.
Oppositional struggle is the history of changing relationships — between people, between communities, and even between nations.

Oppositional struggle against the ruling society is a different kind of struggle. It is a revolutionary process because it goes through a process of contradiction and therefore, is opposed to and superseding of the existing social and political order.

Oppositional struggle is the entire history of changing relationships and of adapting to a new world. It is the only way we have of changing the existing world.

The triumph of one interpretation is already known — there are already many interpretations. The triumph of one interpretation is already written into the history of the world. We don’t need a new interpretation to change our world.

Traditional interpretations have won because they have won. Oppositional struggle is already part of the history of world history. It is already part of the records of world history. It is already part of the records of world expressions of religion, race, nationality, and gender.

We don’t need a new interpretation to change the world. We’ve seen how religion, race, nationality, and gender have changed the world. We’re already living in the result of the traditional interpretations that arose from the historical, cultural, and social experiences of the time.
